Where small feet get big
A bright ground-floor studio on Britzer Damm. Nine classes a week in small groups, teachers who know every child's name, and a glass window so you can watch the whole hour from the sofa.

At 112 cm two groups overlap
Children grow at wildly different rates, so the bands below overlap on purpose. A tall five-year-old still belongs with the Minis, and a small ten-year-old still belongs with the Teens. If the ruler suggests a group that feels wrong to you, pick the age band directly — that answer is always the right one.
The ruler runs entirely on your device. The height you set is never sent to us, never stored, never measured against anything and never appears in a form. Reload the page and it is gone.
Minis
Ages 3 to 5 · 45 minutes
Games, animal walks, scarves and a lot of spinning. No steps to memorise — the point is balance, listening and the joy of moving in a room full of light.

The first real technique: posture, rhythm, short sequences that get a little longer every term — and the first time a group moves as one and everybody notices.

Three teachers, no rotation
The same face every week. Every teacher who works with children here holds a current extended certificate of good conduct — we can show you ours at the door.

Lena opened Wirbelwind in 2014 after eleven years of teaching dance in Neukölln schools. She takes the youngest groups because, in her words, "three-year-olds are the most honest audience in Berlin."

Yasmin dances with a small Berlin company and choreographs the Sommershow with the Show Crew — the children write the ending themselves, and she has never once overruled them.

The sprung floor in Studio 2 has been re-laid over the holidays. It smells of wood and it is wonderful.
This is a static illustration of the parent area with made-up example data. Real accounts open once a place is confirmed, and they are used by parents and guardians, never by children.
Doors open ten minutes before class. Shoes off at the mat, coats on the low hooks, water bottles on the shelf.
The waiting area looks into Studio 1 through a glass window. There is a sofa, a kettle and, most weeks, somebody else's biscuits.
Tell us and your child can catch up in any other class in the same age band, that month, at no extra cost.
We photograph the room, not faces. Anything else needs your written consent, and saying no changes nothing about your child's place.
Save the date
Every group that wants to be on stage is on stage — no auditions, no cast list, no child left in the wings. The Show Crew rehearses on Saturdays; everyone else works it into their normal class.

The studio
Both studios face the street, so the light is real daylight. We photograph the space and the props rather than the children — where children do appear, they are at a distance and not identifiable.
Questions parents actually ask
The age band, always. The height ruler is a shortcut for parents who are not sure where to start, nothing more — a tall five-year-old belongs in Minis and a small ten-year-old belongs in Teens. If the ruler suggests something that feels wrong to you, ignore it and pick the band by age, or ask us and we will try a trial class in each.
Yes. One trial class in any group, no fee, no obligation and no card details. If your child comes out beaming, we will talk about a place; if not, that is a perfectly good outcome too.
The waiting area has a glass window onto Studio 1 and a sofa, so you can watch the whole class without being in the room. For Minis we ask grown-ups to stay in the building for the first four weeks anyway.
Leggings or joggers, a t-shirt, and bare feet or non-slip socks. Ballet Basics children may want soft ballet shoes after a few weeks; hip-hop is danced in clean indoor trainers. Please, no jeans and no jewellery.
Every sibling after the first pays 15 % less, applied automatically to the cheaper place. There is no joining fee. Membership runs monthly and can be cancelled in writing with one month’s notice to the end of a month.
Classes pause during the Berlin school holidays and on public holidays; the monthly fee already accounts for that and is not charged extra or reduced. In the summer holidays we run two open dance weeks that are booked separately.
Both studios, the waiting area and the toilet are on the ground floor and step-free from the street. The entrance door is 92 cm wide. Tell us what your child needs and we will find a way — several of our dancers are autistic and one group runs with a quieter warm-up.
Not without separate written consent from a parent or guardian, and never as a condition of taking part. The photographs on this website show the studio, the props and the room; where children appear they are at a distance and not identifiable.
